Our client is a Nationwide, leading engineering contractor that was established close to 30 years ago. They have been specialising in a range of solutions for Remediation works including Concrete Remediation (Remedial) and Corrosion Protection / Blast and Paint works.

The Role
Our client has an exciting permanent opportunity for a Supervisor with direct experience in Blast & Paint works to join their Defence team working on maintaining and preservation of Defence vessels. Leading Hands with Blast & Paint experience wanting to progress their career into a Junior Supervisor role will also be considered.

Reporting to a Project Manager, the Supervisor's primary objectives would be to lead and manage teams completing Blast and Paint works. You will supervise works and ensure it is carried out safely, efficiently and in accordance with quality standards.

Your key responsibilities:

• Lead and manage blast and paint team/s, helping the team to solve problems and manage day to day works
• Lead by example and ensure a high safety culture
• Complete and maintain site records - site administration
• Ensure sub-contractors and suppliers are compliant with project requirements
• Ensure quality standards are met
• Oversee works being carried out is in accordance with plans / scope of works.
• Participate in task planning and risk analysis, conduct regular audits, and maintain quality standards.

What are we looking for?

• Australian Citizen - Working on an Australian Defence Base requires you to be an Australian Citizen
• A minimum of 2-3 years experience supervising teams and managing complex blast and paint scopes
• Previous experience working on Defence blast and paint projects
• Possess technical knowledge in coatings, surface preparation, management of hazardous substances and application processes.
• Clear National Police Check
• NACE 2 certified. (Not Essential)
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
• Experience in asset remediation and infrastructure projects, with blasting & painting, and concrete rehabilitation works. (Desirable)
• Familiar with Quality systems - progressing, ITPs, QA/QC liaison.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite.
• Full Australian working rights - No sponsorship available

• Salary: Experience between 1 to 2 years with no NACE 2 qualification - $115k to $120k (annual salary) + Superannuation
• Salary: Experience between 3 plus years with a NACE 2 qualification - $120k to $135k (annual salary) + Superannuation
