🚀 Be Part of Something Big – Youth Development Coach (Wodonga) Opportunity!
This isn’t just a job—it’s a once-in-a-lifetime chance to be part of something life-changing. The Education First Youth Foyer is launching in Wodonga, and we’re looking for passionate, driven individuals to help shape the future of young people.
We have multiple positions available, including Night shift, Day shift and Casual opportunities with a rotating 24-hour roster, ensuring the Foyer is always staffed and providing support.
We need people who understand what it takes to build a strong, independent life. If you have real-world experience that can inspire and empower young people, this role is for you.
What is the Education First Youth Foyer?
The Education First Youth Foyer (EFYF) model is an innovative approach to breaking the cycle of youth homelessness. These foyers provide safe, affordable housing for young people (16–24) at risk of homelessness—right on TAFE campuses—while supporting them to pursue education, training, and employment.
The program has proven success with existing foyers in Broadmeadows, Glen Waverley, and Shepparton. Now, Wodonga is set to join this movement in 2025!
The Wodonga Youth Foyer is a partnership between Junction Support Services, Beyond Housing, Wodonga TAFE and Brotherhood of St Laurence.
Using an Advantaged Thinking approach, we focus on building strengths, unlocking potential, and equipping young people with the tools to live independently. Our team of dedicated coaches, mentors, and community partners help students set goals, gain skills, and create pathways to a successful future.
What You’ll Do:
Be a mentor, coach, and role model—help young people (16–24) unlock their potential.
Guide students through education and employment pathways, including the Certificate I in Developing Independence.
Create a positive, safe, and inspiring space where young people can thrive.
Build strong connections—with students, the community, and partner organizations.
Bring fresh ideas and energy to a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
Who You Are:
✨ A natural leader - someone who can inspire and motivate others with an unshakeably positive, can-do attitude and a high level of resilience.
⭐A dynamic superstar who thrives in a fast-paced environment where two days are never the same, can think on their feet and won’t bat an eye at having several competing priorities to manage at the same time.
🗣️ A confident communicator who can connect with people from all walks of life demonstrating an understanding of and ability to use a range of methods to achieve positive results and be a positive role model to students and staff.
🤝A natural people person and team player with the ability to build strong relationships and influence both within the Foyer team and across connected organisations, elected officials, the media and community.
💼 A strategic thinker with experience in youth work, education, community services - or simply a lifetime of skills that young people need to succeed.
🚀 A believer in potential - you see what’s possible and help others see it too.
Why You Want This Job:
Be part of history—this is a brand-new initiative, and you’ll be shaping it from the ground up.
No two days are the same—fast-paced, dynamic, and filled with purpose.
Make a real impact—help young people transition to independent living.
Join a passionate, like-minded team who truly care about changing lives.
Please note this position is 12 months fixed term (subject to funding)
