About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Commis Chef to join our talented kitchen team at the Mermaid Waters Hotel. As a Commis Chef, you will be responsible for assisting the Head Chef and Sous Chef in the preparation and cooking of high-quality meals for our valued guests. This is a full-time position based in Mermaid Waters, Queensland.

What you'll be doing

• Assist the Head Chef and Sous Chef in the preparation and cooking of all menu items to the highest standard
• Ensure kitchen operations run smoothly and efficiently
• Maintain a clean and organised work environment in line with all health and safety regulations
• Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to deliver an exceptional dining experience for our guests
• Actively participate in menu development and new dish creation
• Undertake any other duties as required by the Head Chef or Sous Chef

What we're looking for

• Relevant culinary qualifications or equivalent experience as a Commis Chef
• Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced kitchen environment
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Excellent time management and organisational skills
• A passion for food and a desire to continuously learn and develop your skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
