They manage all aspects of metal fabrication, from on-site measuring and in-house drafting to steel processing, surface treatment, and full site installation. They work on projects of all sizes in various construction sectors, including commercial, mining, defense, industrial, infrastructure, and residential. Our client prides itself on delivering innovative solutions, exceptional customer service, and ensuring projects are completed on schedule.
With exponential growth comes opportunity and as such we have been tasked with sourcing a Site Manager who will be responsible for acting as a hinge pin between Principal contractors and Rigging Crews This role demands a hands-on leader with a strong Trade background as a Boilermaker, proven experience in site work lean, and a track record in trouble shooting.
Your Role:
As a Site Manager, you'll be the linchpin of our on-site operations, ensuring seamless coordination, safety, and progress. You'll be responsible for:

Site Coordination:

• Liaising with Construction and Project Managers to plan weekly site visits
• Coordinating daily deliveries of essential materials (SWMS, layouts, packers, bolts, etc.).

Pre-Start:

• Assessing site conditions and reporting any access issues.
• Connecting with riggers and builders.
• Monitoring site progress and communicating schedule changes.

Ongoing Site Management:

• Conducting random safety audits on sub-contractors (harness usage, equipment, PPE).
• Ensuring Genis Steel Contractors adhere to SWMS and safe operating procedures.
• Reporting and addressing non-conformances.
• Maintaining site housekeeping.
• Managing the collection and return of materials.
• Following up on HSEQ Manager non-conformances.
• Reporting incidents and near misses.
• Monitoring site environmental conditions.

Variations:

• Coordinating material and information requirements with Project Managers.

Safety:

• Adhering to safe work procedures and risk assessments.
• Utilizing appropriate PPE.
• Reporting incidents and near misses as per Genis Steel protocols.

What We're Looking For:

• Trade Background (Boilermaker) with the necessary site tickets (Boom, White Cards, Trade Certificate)
• Proven experience in site management within the construction industry.
• Strong understanding of safety regulations and procedures.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to effectively coordinate and manage multiple tasks.
• A proactive and solution-oriented approach.
• Detail oriented and highly organised.
