At Opt Energy, we are committed to making a positive impact on the environment while helping homeowners save energy and money. As an accredited provider of the Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) Program, we assist homeowners in making their homes more energy-efficient and eco-friendly.

We are currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate must have strong expertise in Xero and Advanced Microsoft Excel, along with experience in handling complex invoicing, accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, account reconciliation, and payroll.

Responsibilities:

· Manage complex invoicing for multiple stakeholders with different payment structures.

· Oversee the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable process, ensuring timely payments and collections.

· Record incoming and outgoing payments and perform accurate reconciliations.

· Maintain accurate financial records and reconcile bank accounts and resolve discrepancies.

· Process payroll efficiently, ensuring compliance with company policies.

· Utilize Advanced Excel Reporting & Analysis to generate reports and enhance workflows.

· Prepare financial statements, budget reports, and management summaries as required.

· Assist with payroll setup, superannuation, and onboarding documentation.

· Ensure adherence to financial regulations and internal policies.

· Be the go-to person for account-related queries.

Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in accounting, finance, or a related field. CPA or CA certification is highly desirable.

· Minimum of two (2) years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, financial reporting, and handling complex invoicing.

· Proficiency in MS Office applications, with advanced expertise in MS Excel.

· Proven experience using Xero accounting software.

· Ability to coordinate financial transactions with multiple stakeholders and payment structures.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Strong focus on accuracy in data entry, document preparation, and record-keeping.

· Ability to analyze financial data, troubleshoot discrepancies, and implement effective solutions independently.

· Efficiently prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

· Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing priorities, and take initiative in process improvements.

· Maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive financial information.
