About the role

Whelan Kartaway, a leading waste management and recycling provider, is seeking an experienced Account Manager / Sales Representative to join our dynamic team in the Northern Suburbs of Melbourne, Victoria. In this full-time position, you will be responsible for managing and growing key client relationships, while also generating new business opportunities to drive the continued success of our organisation.

What you'll be doing

• Proactively manage and develop strong relationships with existing clients to ensure exceptional customer service and maximise retention
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities by prospecting, cold-calling, and networking to expand our client base
• Prepare and present tailored proposals and solutions to meet the unique needs of potential clients
• Negotiate and finalise contracts to secure new business
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate the onboarding and implementation of new client accounts
• Maintain accurate records of all client interactions and sales activities in our CRM system
• Contribute to the development and execution of the overall sales strategy

What we're looking for

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a sales or account management role, preferably within the waste management or recycling industry
• Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets
• Excellent relationship-building and negotiation skills with the ability to identify and address client needs
• Strong communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written
• Proficient in using CRM systems and MS Office applications
• Passionate about sustainability and the environment
• A valid driver's licence and willingness to travel within the local region
