About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced nurse or allied health practitioner to embed the Behaviour Support Practitioner (BSP) role at Grampians Health. This role provides leadership, mentoring, and support to employees, improving capacity to predict, prevent, and respond to behaviours of concern, enhancing safety for staff, patients, and visitors. Working across multiple sites, the BSP collaborates with key stakeholders to develop tailored strategies, provide education, and improve risk management approaches.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and support staff in managing responsive behaviours.
- Implement strategies to reduce risks and enhance patient care.
- Develop and deliver education programs to build staff capability.
- Collaborate with clinical teams to create behaviour support plans.
- Support post-incident reviews and process improvements.
- Contribute to policy development and organisational strategy.
Skills & Experience
- AHPRA registration with relevant board or eligibility for AASW membership.
- Postgraduate qualification in a relevant field.
- Strong knowledge of behaviour support and clinical aggression management.
- Experience in leading projects, programs, or working with key stakeholders.
- Highly developed communication, leadership, and change management skills.
