ABOUT THE ROLE
An exciting opportunity exists for a registered Core or Proficient Behaviour Support Practitioner.
The Behaviour Support Practitioner will develop and implement Behaviour Support Plans alongside the Senior Practitioner and team. We seek a dedicated professional with strong experience in behaviour support, a passion for person-centred care, and a commitment to quality, excellence, and continuous improvement. The Behaviour Support Practitioner will oversee and contribute to the development, delivery and evaluation of evidence based individually tailored Behaviour Support Plans for clients in partnership with informal and formal supports. As well as this, PBSP will provide ad hoc supervision to Core practitioners where required and actively participate in supervision to enhance behaviour support skills. This role is also open to Core Practitioners who are already a registered BSP.
DUTIES
- Develop, implement, and evaluate Positive Behaviour Support Plans (PBSP) in collaboration with clients and their support networks.
- Provide education, training, support and occasional supervision to Core Practitioners (if Proficient).
- Conduct risk assessments and functional behavioural assessments.
- Work towards the reduction and elimination of restrictive practices.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records.
- Contribute to service development and promote Positive Behaviour Support principles.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant allied health field (e.g., Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Behavioural Science, Psychology).
- Registered with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission as a Behaviour Support Practitioner - Proficient or Core Practitioner.
- High level understanding of person-centred practice and experience in positive behaviour support.
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with clients and their support networks.
- Experience in delivering training and support to individuals and groups.
- Knowledge of NDIS and experience working with NDIS service providers.
- Evidence of a Suitability letter from NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission confirming Practitioner Identification Number
· Current NSW Working with Children Check clearance
· Current NDIS Worker Screening Check clearance
· Recent or new (employer facilitated) Criminal History Check. Please note that people with criminal records are not automatically barred from applying for this position. Each application will be considered on its merits.
