Centre Director | Regional Leadership Role | Create Cultural Impact

$100K - $120K + relocation support & paid accommodation to help you settle in

Opportunity to shape a high-impact childcare centre within a passionate, family-run brand

About GRO Early Learning

GRO Early Learning is a family-owned and operated early childhood education provider passionate about delivering high-quality care and education in regional Queensland. Founded by Coraline Dufroux, GRO was born from firsthand experience of the childcare gaps in small towns. With a deep commitment to transforming regional childcare, the organisation has invested hundreds of thousands into uplifting environments, resources, and staff quality to elevate industry standards.

Currently operating in Mount Isa and soon opening a new centre in Moranbah, GRO isn’t chasing growth for growth's sake. Instead, the goal is to build a few outstanding, community-connected centres where children thrive, staff feel supported, and leadership is hands-on and empowering. If you're a passionate leader ready to drive quality and culture, GRO is the place to make an impact.

About the Opportunity

GRO Early Learning is looking for a full-time Centre Director based in either Mount Isa or Moranbah, QLD.

In this critical leadership role, you'll report to the Area Manager/Approved Provider and oversee centre operations, quality standards, team performance, and family engagement. Your mandate is to lead with integrity, uplift culture, and ensure compliance, safety, and educational excellence.

More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Leading and mentoring a diverse team of educators with a focus on professional growth and team cohesion

Driving compliance with the National Quality Standards (NQS), EYLF, WHS, and child protection regulations

Fostering a play-based, inclusive learning environment that meets the needs of children and families

Overseeing administrative and financial responsibilities, including budgets and enrolments

Championing a strong workplace culture through transparent communication and process discipline

Acting as the key liaison for families, community partners, and external consultants

About You

To qualify, you will need a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (or higher) and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a leadership role within early childhood education. Experience in regional settings will be highly regarded.

Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:

Experience managing underperforming teams and leading cultural transformation

Proven ability to coach, mentor, and inspire staff

Familiarity with CCS, EYLF, NQS, WHS, and relevant frameworks and regulations

Strong communication and people management skills

Previous experience managing a childcare centre budget

As our ideal candidate, you will possess the resilience, emotional intelligence, and confidence to lead in a high-pressure environment. You understand the dynamics of regional communities and bring a no-nonsense, respectful approach to team leadership.

This is a career-defining opportunity to lead a centre with full autonomy, backed by a supportive leadership team that trusts and empowers its Centre Directors.

About the Benefits

You will receive a competitive salary between $100,000 - $120,000 + super, based on skills and experience. Additional benefits include:

Relocation assistance package (negotiable depending on family status)

Two weeks paid accommodation upon arrival

Career progression opportunities as GRO expands

Flexible leadership and autonomy in a growing organisation

Supportive leadership from the founder and experienced consultants

A chance to make a meaningful difference in a close-knit regional community

Yearly performance bonuses and quarterly discretionary bonuses (after 12 months probation)

Free Fire Safety training yearly

Free Safe Sleep Training (SIDS QLD) yearly

Free ACA Yearly membership

Free Yearly Team Building & Professional Development days like Sip & Paint

Free Members Conference at the Gold Coast over 2 days, one night including Gala Dinner

(Partners welcome to join the weekend, just not the conference or dinner)

If you share our values and have the skills necessary to bring success to the role, then we invite you to apply today!
