About the role:

Our Management Accountant is off on maternity leave starting June 2025; we are looking for an experienced, degree-qualified professional to support the Finance and Commercial team in her absence.

As the Management Accountant, you will be responsible for maintaining fixed asset records, ensuring tax and payroll compliance, and supporting management accounting functions.

• Reporting to the Director of Financial and Commercial, your key responsibilities will include:
• Maintain Fixed Asset Master Data, process capitalisations, and manage depreciation.
• Oversee payroll compliance, including tax lodgements (Payroll Tax, FBT, BAS, GST, ITR).
• Conduct monthly OpEx and CapEx reviews and support budgeting and forecasting.
• Prepare and present financial reports on operational and capital expenditures, R&D, and resource productivity.
• Maintain project master data and manage CapEx approval workflows.
• Provide financial system support, including ERP updates, credit card facility administration, and user training.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

Essential:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field, or an equivalent level of experience
• Minimum 5 years post-graduate experience in a similar role
• Experience in management accounting, preferably within manufacturing, engineering, or defence industries.
• Knowledge of Capital Expenditure accounting and labour cost rate calculations.
• Experience preparing data for BAS, FBT, and Payroll Tax returns.
• Proficiency in financial ERP systems and data management tools.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and financial modelling experience.
• Strong financial analysis and reporting skills.
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to identify financial discrepancies.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Proficiency in financial reporting and financial systems administration.
• Ability to prioritise conflicting deadlines effectively.
• Must be eligible to work in Australia without sponsorship

Desirable:

• Professional accreditation (CPA/CA) or working towards certification.
• Experience with Pronto ERP system
• Experience in Cognos reporting
