Role

Due to continual growth and diversification, we are looking for an enthusiastic and outgoing Electrical Project Engineer to join and support our team.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the role is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the business and assisting both the office and site management teams as required. You will play a vital role in providing tender and project support, which includes working with Coastal Electrics management team to prepare quotations for varying sized projects, material take offs, procurement and logistics and the preparation and maintenance of project documentation. You will also be entrusted with nurturing long-standing relationships with our clients.

The role would suit an all-round office person who can work well in a small team environment.

This is a permanent, full-time position with flexible work arrangements, to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Role Requirements

Well presented with strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to interpret plans, drawings, schedules and scope of work documents.

Understanding of project contractual requirements.

Previous project experience in an industrial / mining focused business with a sound understanding of mine site operational requirements.

Initiative and problem-solving ability.

Demonstrated understanding of project financial metrics and managing budgets.

Good interpersonal skills.

Time management skills and the ability to multi-task.

Be confident, proactive and demonstrate strong attention to detail.

Be honest and reliable with a positive and enthusiastic "can do" attitude.

Be able to work autonomously as well as in a small team environment.

High level of proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.

Previous experience in electrical project coordinator or estimating role.

Key Responsibilities

Support the Project Manager and Superintendents in the planning and execution of projects.

Lead the preparation of tender submissions, ensuring work method statements and construction schedules align with client requirements.

Development tender documentation and manage tender deliverables.

Positively manage relationships with sub-contractors, suppliers and consultants.

Identify risk and ensure all risks are recorded and accounted for within both tender and project environments.

Ensure tender submissions meet any closure deadlines and are in the format required by the Client.

Manage correspondence and respond appropriately under the approval of the management team.

Support the management team in dealings with Clients, suppliers and subcontractors.

Support the project establishment process, ensuring seamless transition to project management after contract award.

Ensure appropriate allocation of resources to achieve planned outcomes.

Manage the engagement and performance of external contractors and suppliers.

Monitor procurement to ensure work crews have all required plant, equipment and materials required to conduct the works.

Prepare pre-project documentation including project specific plans, CRAWs etc.

Assist with progress tracking and reporting.

Communicate with team members and Clients to ensure project goals are met.

Maintain project documentation and files.

Assist in preparing project reports and presentations.

Provide administrative support as needed.

Utilise, build, and maintain a professional network to increase and diversify business opportunities.
