About the Role

We are looking for a Senior/Associate Electrical Engineer to lead innovative and sustainable building services designs across healthcare, commercial, data centre, and tertiary sectors. In this role, you will deliver high-quality engineering solutions, drive decarbonisation efforts, and embrace digital transformation. You will collaborate with clients and multidisciplinary teams while mentoring junior engineers. Strong expertise in electrical building services, sustainability, and emerging technologies is essential. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of projects and shape the future of design.

Key Responsibilities

  • Stay updated with relevant codes, standards, and legislative requirements to deliver effective technical solutions.
  • Provide technical and administrative support through calculations, reports, tenders, and construction documentation.
  • Offer accurate expertise and advice on engineering standards and best-value solutions.
  • Review engineering designs and certification documents for compliance with procedures and standards.
  • Manage project phases, ensuring timely delivery within budget and high-quality standards.
  • Liaise with engineers, project teams, authorities, and clients to maintain strong relationships and provide updates.
  • Deliver technical excellence and internal client service while meeting objectives and deadlines.
  • Monitor and report team performance against project timelines, fees, and budgets.
  • Prepare high-quality project reports that are technically sound, well-structured, and error-free.
  • Execute engineering tasks, including specification writing, design work, and documentation, with minimal supervision.
  • Ensure projects meet quality assurance standards and utilisation targets.
  • Assist Project Leaders by providing progress updates and meeting expectations.
  • Coordinate with sub-consultants and communicate any delays or issues.
  • Take proactive actions to successfully complete assigned tasks while keeping Project Leaders informed.
  • Provide project updates to clients, ensuring satisfaction and fostering repeat business.
  • Support the preparation and coordination of tenders, proposals, and submissions.
  • Register new projects in BST when acting as a Project Leader.
  • Contribute to completing projects on time and within budget.
  • Participate in team meetings and share knowledge to enhance capability within the team.
  • Encourage knowledge sharing and technical learning among team members.
  • Keep up-to-date with relevant technologies, techniques, legislation, and standards.
  • Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with the Integrated Management System (IMS).
  • Drive and implement improvement initiatives in line with business plans.
  • Participate in Occupational Health & Safety programs and follow workplace safety practices.
  • Report hazardous conditions, near misses, and injuries immediately to management.
  • Attend compliance training and ensure completion of required safety activities.
  • Engage in professional development through seminars, courses, and in-house training.
  • Submit daily timesheets electronically by the required deadline.
  • Deliver high-quality client service for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Apply lateral thinking and innovative solutions to solve client and project challenges.
  • Identify, develop, and implement process improvements for greater efficiency and effectiveness.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven leadership in multidisciplinary engineering projects, with excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • 10+ years of local Electrical Engineering experience, with an Engineering degree, Chartered status, and NER registration.
  • Extensive experience in electrical, ICT, Comms, and security engineering design, with a focus on project delivery, risk management, and problem-solving.
  • Proficient in sustainable and cost-effective solutions, Section J, and various design software (ETAP, DIgSILENT Power Factory, PSCAD, AutoCAD, Revit, SKM PowerTools).
  • Strong knowledge of electrical protection systems, SCADA, energy management, and electrical grid operations.
  • Skilled in project accounting, budgeting, and managing client relationships.
  • Strong team player with mentoring experience, high attention to detail, and the ability to manage tasks from inception to completion.
  • Professional, flexible, and client-focused with a drive for continuous technical development.
