We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Tax Accountant to join our Team Leader team, helping us maintain high-quality service and supporting a remote workforce.

We love to engage with our team members face to face however if you live outside of South East Queensland we would be interested in exploring a remote role with you.

About the Role:
As an Tax Accountant Team Leader, you will oversee the preparation and review of individual tax returns, ensuring processes run smoothly within our online platform and are completed within service guarantee timeframes. You’ll lead a team of accountants working remotely, fostering collaboration and excellence, while building strong relationships with clients through various digital communication channels.

This role would be great for a Tax Accountant who is ready to step into leadership. We will provide support and guidance, along the way and develop your leadership capability while being guided through your responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership: Manage the workflow of a remote team, delegate tasks fairly, and provide timely, constructive feedback on performance. Offer guidance and technical support to team members on tax-related queries to ensure clients consistently receive accurate, high-quality advice. Maintain a strong focus on collaboration, development, and upholding Etax’s service standards.

Client Engagement: Proactively engage clients through our online platform and other digital avenues to expedite tax return processes and ensure satisfaction. Respond to all client inquiries within 24 hours.

Quality Assurance: Ensure all work complies with quality assurance standards in an online service environment and participate in internal audits.

Remote Workforce Support: Provide leadership and support to a team working remotely, ensuring clear communication and guidance on company goals, projects, and KPIs.

Team Projects: Actively contribute to team projects and continuous improvement initiatives, with a focus on remote collaboration and productivity.

Professional Development: Mentor and train graduate accountants, including remote staff, and participate in ongoing professional development through internal and external training.

Customer Service: Maintain high standards of service delivery in an online setting, upholding our values of honesty, integrity, and kindness in all client interactions.

Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field - required.

Extensive experience processing/reviewing Individual Tax Returns - required.

Experience training, coaching and mentoring junior Accountants - required.

Strong focus on customer service and client engagement in an online environment - required.

Experience leading and managing remote teams - desirable.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a professional approach to remote client and team interactions - required.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and experience working in a professional, digital-first environment - required.

Key Competencies:

Proven ability to lead and support a remote team in a positive, productive manner.

High attention to detail, with strong organizational and time management skills in a virtual work setting.

Proactive problem-solving abilities and initiative in improving processes in an online environment.

Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
