About the role

Shepparton Library Manager is a full-time role, Band 6 at the Goulburn Valley Libraries' Shepparton branch located in Shepparton, VIC 3630. In this strategic position, you will manage the operations and services of the Shepparton library, ensuring the community receives high-quality library experiences.

The successful applicant must be available to work a flexible roster of shifts across weekdays, weekends and evenings, and be able to support the goals of the Goulburn Valley Libraries strategic plan.

What you'll be doing

Oversee the day-to-day operations and service delivery of the Shepparton library branch.

Lead and manage the library team, including supervising, training and developing staff.

Develop and implement plans to continually improve library services, programs and resources for the Shepparton Library Branch.

Engage with the local community to understand their needs and preferences.

Represent the library at community events and liaise with stakeholders.

Ensure the Sheppparton library branch complies with relevant legislation, policies and procedures.

What we're looking for

Relevant tertiary qualification in Library and Information Science or a related field

Minimum 3 years' experience in a library management role

Proven people management skills, including the ability to lead, motivate and develop a team

Strong community engagement and stakeholder management experience

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Proficiency in using library management systems and technology

Ability to work collaboratively and contribute to the overall success of the library service
