We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated Food Service Supervisor to join our Kitchen and Pastry team making the meals for our Private Hospital and Aged Care Facility, Lulworth House.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Working across different areas when required
- Check the quality and quantity of food prior to transporting to food service areas, and report any faults or discrepancies to the Food Services Manager, including allergy and modified diets
- Deliver products to various areas & stakeholders as required
- Ensure that all food items are stored and served correctly as prescribed in the Food Safety Plan.
- Ensure that FIFO policy is followed and adhered to at all times
- Maintain all Catering records and forms as prescribed by the Food Services Manager
- Ensure that all Food Safety requirements are met as prescribed in the Food Safety plan
- Monitor and maintain stock levels as per stock control systems and procedures any report any ordering requirements to Food Services Manager.
- Ensure all machines, (fridges, benches etc.) equipment and utensils are in good working condition at all times. Report any issues to the Food Services Manager for rectification.
- Check all assigned areas in regards to sanitation and hygiene to prevent contamination of any kind as per standard operating procedures
- Oversee all dietary requirement
The successful candidates will have:
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or above/Certificate IV preferred
- Previous experience as a chef in either restaurants or hotels essential
- Experience in managing a diverse team effectively and diplomatically
- Ability to work in food production processes;
- Ability to effectively manage staff;
- Knowledge of safe food handling procedures as outlined in HACCP guidelines;
- Ability to effectively manage time and resources;
- Ability to follow procedures and maintain systems;
- A high level of customer service skills including flexibility, tact and diplomacy;
- Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment;
- Plating skills;
Successful applicants are required to undergo a satisfactory Criminal History Record Check and immunisation assessment prior to commencement.
