Job Description:

Perform food preparation, cooking and presentation under supervision of Senior Chefs including stock monitoring and maintaining hygiene and OHS Standard.

Main Responsibilities:

Responsible for food preparation and ensuring the ingredients and materials are enough for daily kitchen operations.

Assisting Sous chef in food cooking using the special techniques such as emulsification, blind baking, grilling/ chargrilling, braising and making special sauce for meat marinade and signature dishes.

Assist Senior Chefs to ensure the food is well presented according to quality standards.

Assist Senior Chefs in maintaining kitchen equipment and tools including keeping the work areas clean and hygienic.

Assist Senior Chefs in supply order, monitor food stocks and prepare the stock report to avoid food spoilage and waste.

Comply with food safety regulations and OHS protocols at all times when performing the duties.

Work alongside other kitchen team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations.

Discuss food preparation issues with Chef de Partie, Sous Chef and other kitchen team members.

Perform other duties delegated by Senior Chefs as required including continually developing culinary knowledge to produce high quality dishes.

Requirements:

Minimum one year relevant work experience

Knowledge in special cooking techniques and sauce making (specified in main responsibilities)

Attention to details

Good communication skill

Knowledge in special dietary requirement, food preservation, kitchen workstations (pans, grill, pass, fryer) and stocktaking

Knowledge in food safety and OHS work practice

Job Type: Full-time
Salary: AUD 70,000 - 75,000.00 per year
