About the role

Containerspace, is seeking a motivated and detail oriented Container Control Officer to join our team in Brooklyn, VIC, 3012. This is a full-time position Monday to Friday where you will play a vital role in the efficient operation of our empty container yard.

What you'll be doing

Processing the arrival of containers and trucks ensuring details are accurately recorded

Liaising with truck drivers and forklift operators, ensuring a smooth and efficient flow of traffic in and out of the container yard

Identifying and addressing any discrepancies or issues that may arise during the gate-in process

Communicating and enforcing depot procedures to drivers to ensure a safe working environment

Enter releases and acceptances via 1-Stop system in a timely and efficient manner

Build and maintain positive relationships with strong focus on best possible outcomes

Responding to customer queries in a timely and accurate manner, via phone or email

What we're looking for

Experience in a container park or transport operations environment is highly desirable

Knowledge and experience of shipping lines, transport companies and 1-Stop system

Excellent computer literacy skills, maintaining a high level of accuracy and strong attention to detail

Strong verbal communication skills using a two way radio

Knowledge of WH&S requirements with a proactive approach identifying problems

You have the ability to work effectively with truck drivers and other stakeholders

You have a positive, friendly attitude working in a team environment

You provide yourself on good customer service

Flexible with the ability to work overtime when needed
