Large award-winning hospitality group that resides over thirteen well-known venues throughout Sydney, Victoria and Queensland is seeking a Head Chef for one of its popular venues in the south-west of Sydney - Padstow Park Hotel.

This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic Head Chef to work in a venue with a great kitchen team, who is experienced and inspired to lead a small team by taking the reins and responsibilities of this established kitchen.

Padstow Park Hotel boasts both a modern, sophisticated and stylish design and includes a range of exceptional quality pub food, beverages, and entertainment activities.

About the role
The role involves managing a kitchen team and cooking top quality pub food to the high standards set. This role forms part of a 4-6 person kitchen team and will require excellent working knowledge of Modern Australian cuisine, as well as, previous experience gained in successful, high turnover restaurants, or bistros.

Your overall responsibility is to lead by example through the execution of top quality dishes, ensuring the Bistro’s high standards are maintained at all times.

The candidate
The successful candidate will have the following:

Must be trade qualified and hold a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery.

Will have minimum eight (8) years Post Qualified experience.

Previous high calibre hotel bistro or restaurant experience and the leadership and management of a small team, is essential.

Menu development, with focus on seasonal produce.

Weekly specials.

Full responsibility of ordering.

Costs and stock control.

Management of kitchen staff.

The successful applicant will be able to motivate staff, create and foster an enthusiastic work environment whilst maintaining a high quality product.

Collaboration with Front of House management.

Maintaining consistency in food quality.

Upholding food safety and OHS requirements.

A key success in this role, is a genuine passion for producing great food coupled with excellent organisational skills, a reliable honest attitude, and the ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

The right candidate must have excellent communication skills, have an approachable manner and a strong customer service focus.
