Some of your responsibilities will include:
• Consult and provide solutions to management on complex HR matters through interpretation of HR policies, procedures and relevant legislation in line with Queensland Public Sector HR Legislation, Awards, Agreements, Directives and Protocols.
• Prepare high-quality written documentation such as procedures, workflows, presentations, reports, briefing notes, and other communication.
• Lead, deliver or actively contribute to organisational development projects and initiatives through contemporary and best practice approaches to enhance the employee experience and progress MSQ as an employer of choice, such as workforce planning, change management, entry pathway programmes, and employee learning and development activities.
• Research and analyse HR management issues and workforce data, identify trends and key areas for improvement and develop strategies and business solutions that drive better practices, build workforce capability, staff engagement and experience.
• Maintain a customer-centric focus and develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to gain support and partnerships in delivering on strategic and operational objectives.
• Conduct preliminary reviews and/or investigations of complex workplace issues and provide timely advice to managers for proposed management strategies across a broad range of areas including performance management, health/rehabilitation and long-term absence management, independent medical examinations and other
matters.
• As required, undertake day to day operational HR activities to support HR service delivery to customers.
Requirements of the role
• Demonstrated sound knowledge of relevant legislation, enterprise agreements, awards, policies and practices, in relation to contemporary human resource practice, particularly within the Queensland Public Sector.
• Demonstrated ability to build and sustain relationships to enable the collaborative delivery of customer focused outcomes. Communicates in a clear, succinct, and deliberate manner, adjusting the message so that it resonates with different stakeholders.
• Demonstrates resilience and problem-solving skills and can navigate through ambiguity.
• Promotes a positive teamwork environment, takes accountability, and contributes to continuous improvement for self and the team.
• Proven ability to deliver project outcomes and demonstrates persistence in working through obstacles and challenges to achieve delivery of agreed outcomes.
• Demonstrated experience in case management, such as workplace conflict matters, performance issues, disciplinary matters and non-work related injury/illness.
• Demonstrated ability in understanding business issues and developing evidence-based arguments and recommendations through research, information gathering, critical thinking and analysis.
• Knowledge and understanding of SAP and HR system reporting, or ability to rapidly acquire.
