Assistant Restaurant Manager at Coogee Wine Room

Coogee Wine Room marries the charm of great European wine bars with the convivial atmosphere only found at a neighbourhood restaurant. Our menu is imaginative and sensorial, and proudly inspired by Mediterranean cuisines. Our food offering is complemented by an award-winning 600-bottle wine list (we have been awarded Three Glasses every year since opening in 2019).

We are looking for a passionate, driven and wine-focused Assistant Restaurant Manager to support the Restaurant Manager in the day-to-day running of our beloved venue.

About you:

You have a strong knowledge of and passion for wine and spirits (CMS or WSET qualifications highly regarded).

You have excellent spoken and written communication skills.

You love hospitality, are courteous, have strong interpersonal skills, and exemplify professionalism.

You have 2+ years in a fine dining environment, with solid experience managing sections and suggesting wine pairings.

You work well under pressure, in a fast-paced environment, and have strong organisational and multitasking abilities.

You are available to work on weekends.

Ideally, you have experience managing a team.

Your duties will include:

Helping to lead and inspire the FOH team, fostering a great working environment.

Assisting in overseeing daily restaurant operations, to ensure the smooth functioning of the venue, including staffing, reservations, and inventory management.

Collaborating with the kitchen team to ensure seamless service and coordination between food and beverage.

Manage, curate and develop our award-winning wine list, alongside the Restaurant Manager.

Being the face of the venue when the Restaurant Manager isn't on shift, leading the team and setting the standards.

Maintaining a clean, safe and compliant working environment.

Monitor venue ambiance and overall guest satisfaction – ultimately ensuring our guests receive an unparalleled dining experience.
