Job Title: Leading Hand Carpenter /opportunity to become Foreman (Hands-On Role)

As we expand, we're looking for a Leading Hand Carpenter / Foremanwho is not only a strong leader but also enjoys being hands-on in the carpentry work alongside the team.

Job Description: As a Leading Hand Carpenter / building towards Foreman, you will take on a dual role. You'll lead and supervise a small team of carpenters, ensuring projects run smoothly, safely, and on time, while also being actively involved in the hands-on carpentry work. Whether site setout, framing, to Fixout Carpentry, your leadership will directly shape the quality and success of each residential project.

This is a unique opportunity for someone who enjoys working directly with their hands while guiding others to achieve outstanding results.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and supervise a small, skilled team of carpenters on residential construction projects, from new builds to renovations and extensions

Perform hands-on carpentry tasks, including All Aspects of Building from ground- up.

Read and interpret plans, and specifications, ensuring all team members understand and follow them

Oversee day-to-day site operations, ensuring work is completed to the highest standards of quality, on time, and within budget

Manage the safe use and maintenance of tools, equipment, and materials on-site

Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes, maintaining a safe work environment

Communicate effectively with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors, ensuring smooth workflow

Resolve on-site issues quickly and efficiently, maintaining project progress

Mentor and train junior carpenters, sharing skills and knowledge to support their development

Ensure all work is done to meet the highest residential construction standards

Qualifications:

Experience as a Carpenter with a strong focus on residential construction

Recognized qualification in carpentry (e.g., apprenticeship)

Strong skills in Residential carpentry tasks.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, plans.

Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

Ability to work hands-on in a leadership capacity, managing the team while actively participating in the work

Knowledge of local building codes, safety regulations, and industry best practices

Valid driver’s license and own transportation.
