About the business and the role

Ambient Services Group is a privately owned commercial Air-Conditioning & Mechanical Services company based in Hillsdale, Sydney.

We specialise in commercial fit-out and critical mechanical plant infrastructure upgrade projects with a typical project value ranging from $250k - $5.0 m.

With continuing company growth, we require an experienced Air-Conditioning & Mechanical Services Estimator to join our Construction Division.

Job tasks and responsibilities

Establish and maintain vendor relationships

Communicate with internal and external parties on current and future projects

Review and compilation of detailed tender documentation

Preparation of estimates and tender submissions in consultation with clients, consultants & other key stakeholders

Maintaining and updating internal sales register, tender folders and documentation for quoted projects

Interact with the sales and project teams to ensure all projects are performed under budget and according to plans and specifications

Skills and experience

Trade qualified or Mechanical Engineer with a minimum of 5 years’ experience gained within the commercial HVAC sector

Ability to read and comprehend mechanical documentation and other construction documents

Knowledge of different types of HVAC systems and their components

Ability to accurately perform material take-offs

Computer savvy – whilst you’ll be trained on the systems used, you will need to be able to navigate proficiently within the MS Office suite & Simpro

A confident communicator – this is a professional role which is very customer interactive. You must be able to build relationships and articulate well both verbally and in writing

Excellent client & stakeholder management skills

Ability to work across multiple tenders to meet deadlines and work in a timely fashion, whilst not compromising on accuracy or detail
