What's the role?

The Level 2 ICT Support Engineer plays a key role in maintaining seamless digital operations at Scouts WA by delivering essential ICT support and training, managing systems and equipment, and ensuring effective user assistance and digital security across the organisation. They work under general direction of the General Manager of ICT to regulate the end user computing experience, assist with the functionality of the ICT systems, and contribute to the continuous improvement of digital services and infrastructure. The role requires problem-solving using established knowledge and skills, and adherence to cyber security, change management and project management principles, with scope for initiative in applying work procedures.

What is the scope of responsibilities?

End User Computing

Provide support End Users through various channels.

Prioritise and maintain ICT support requests within the ICT Support Tool.

Oversee the deployment and maintenance of ICT equipment.

Develop and update ICT support documentation.

Maintain the ICT asset register.

Offer comprehensive support for organisational applications and systems.

Deliver training to enhance user competency.

Escalate complex issues when necessary.

Coordinate with external ICT support partners under management direction.

Systems Administration

Provide systems administration support within the Microsoft 365 environment.

Maintain and enforce ICT documentation and procedures.

Monitor ICT system health and compile analytical reports.

Ensure the digital environment's safety and security for all users.

Oversee End User account management including user onboarding and offboarding.

Collaborate with external ICT partners for specialised support under managerial direction.

Provide communication about ICT activities to impacted End Users.

Project Support

Perform project-related tasks under managerial direction.

Plan and prioritise project-related tasks with other responsibilities.

Collaborate with management to track and support project progress.

Promptly address and report any project conflicts or timing issues to the management.

What skills and knowledge do you need?

Sound knowledge in system engineering and service management.

o Experience with change management.

o Proficiency in software troubleshooting, network communications and backup systems and cloud computing.

o Qualifications and/or experience in business, administration, or similar are beneficial.

Proficiency in using technology and software systems.

o Experience with Salesforce preferred.

o Good understanding of Windows 10/11 and Microsoft 365.

o Qualification or knowledge of CRM systems are beneficial.

Working knowledge of legal, regulatory, and compliance standards relevant to cyber security.

Comprehensive practical knowledge of organisational policies, procedures, and standards.

Familiarity or knowledge of the Scouting movement is advantageous.

What experience is necessary?

a) A relevant associate diploma with relevant experience; or

b) A less formal qualifications with specialised skills sufficient to perform at this level; or

c) Relevant expertise through previous appointments, service and/or study an equivalent level of experience and expertise to undertake the range of activities required.

Adhere to Scouts Australia’s Code of Ethics and Conduct for Adults in Scouting.

Adhere to Scouts WA policies, standards, and procedures.

Work a flexible roster, including occasional early mornings, nights, and weekends as reasonable and required.

Spend extended time periods sitting and using office equipment and computers.

Spend extended time periods liaising with clients on the telephone and in person.

Access equipment storage on a regular basis (occasionally bending and lifting).

Travel to locations that may not be serviced by public transport.
