About Us
Alpine MDF Industries is a leading wood processing facility based in Wangaratta, North East Victoria. We manufacture and distribute MDF products both nationally and internationally, providing stable employment for over 140 local workers.
Our primary focus is the production of Medium Density Fibreboard (MDF), widely used in the construction and related industries. In addition to our core manufacturing operations, we operate an on-site re-manufacturing facility, enhancing raw MDF into high-quality building products. These include pre-painted skirting boards, architraves, door and window components, and decorative wall lining panels.
Purpose
This full-time position entails representing the Alpine MDF Brand professionally and with integrity to all stakeholders and customers in the Australian market. This role is responsible for achieving sales targets through strategic sales planning, while driving business growth and ensuring customer retention.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Account and Territory Management:
- Service, maintain, and grow key accounts, including distributors, wholesalers, resellers, and large manufacturers;
- Implement a relationship-driven sales approach, including negotiation, solution selling, and territory development;
- Analyse market trends and competitors, to adjust pricing strategies and identify new product opportunities;
- Promote technical product applications relevant to customer needs;
- Develop and implement a structured territory management plan, including regularly visit customers.
Business Development:
- Drive expansion by identifying and capitalising on new market opportunities;
- Proactively prospect, develop, and secure new clients in alignment with company growth strategies;
- Develop strategic partnerships to enhance business relationships and increase sales;
- Work collaboratively with internal departments (e.g., production, logistics, finance) to support business growth.
Sales and Revenue Management:
- Identify and address sales gaps to ensure revenue objectives are met;
- Provide accurate forecasting, reporting, and insights into sales performance.
To be successful in the role:
- Experience in the wood panel industry (MDF, Particleboard & Plywood) preferred, or other related industries (e.g., furniture, joinery, construction) considered;
- Ability to work autonomously and travel extensively;
- Strong B2B sales skills, including negotiation and business development;
- Proficiency in CRM, ERP, and Microsoft Office software for reporting and data analysis;
- Strong planning, forecasting, and reporting abilities;
- Effective communication and relationship-building skills;
- A valid driver’s license.
