We are seeking a proactive, highly organised and experienced individual to join our McKay Plumbing
team as an Office Administrator/ Bookkeeper. This pivotal role is integral to the smooth operation of our
business and encompasses a variety of responsibilities, including bookkeeping, HR and payroll
processing with general office administration. The ideal candidate will possess excellent
organisational skills, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Providing exceptional customer service and support to clients and our McKay Plumbing team is key.
We are open to the candidate having workplace flexibility – this could be a hybrid role consisting of
working remotely and in our Heidelberg Office.
Key Responsibilities:
Bookkeeping & Accounting:
You will be using Xero to handle payroll, superannuation payments, accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, and bank reconciliations.
Client & Supplier Relations: Maintain clear records and communicate professionally with clients and suppliers.
MS Office suite skills and especially Excel at least at intermediate level is required.
The position is suited to a self-starter with superior administrative ability, a keen eye for detail and a ‘no task is too big or small’ attitude who will enjoy working in a a small, locally owned business.
Basic HR Management:
Oversee HR functions where needed and the use of Seek Account.
Maintain employee records, Apprenticeship Paperwork & Long Service Leave.
Address employee enquiries related to HR, onboarding and payroll matters.
Administrative Support:
Perform general office duties, including data entry, filing, and organising documents.
Time Sheet & scheduling management.
Assist with preparing presentations, reports, and other documents as required.
Customer Service:
Provide outstanding service to visitors, clients, and staff, addressing inquiries and ensuring their needs are met in a timely and efficient manner.
Handle basic administrative tasks related to client interactions, including booking appointments and follow-ups.
