Your part in The Wesley Hospital team

The role of the Clinical Coding Support Officer is to support coding staff with clerical and administration functions. The role is critical to the running of the Uniting Care Hospitals Clinical Coding team at The Wesley hospital with the main responsibility being to ensure all medical records/case notes are on file for the Clinical Coders and the department is supported administratively to meet their required deadlines.

The role will navigate the Digital Medical Record (DMR) as well as other software applications to review accounts for complete and accurate documentation. The Clinical Coding Support Officer works within the DMR work queues to ensure accuracy and timely submission of encounters.

What makes a difference for us?

Knowledge of medical terminology.

Current Procedural Terminology and International Classification of Disease 10th Edition (ICD-10) coding knowledge preferred

Knowledge of Epic preferred

Ability to meet scheduled deadlines and sound organisational skills.

Strong computer skills – working knowledge of Excel and Word.

Effective communication skills, verbal and written.
