About the role:

Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Coordinator ensures that all items (raw materials, in-process manufacture and finished products) meet quality standards and are produced in accordance with specifications.

This role will support the Morning Shift (6am to 2pm).

As the Quality Coordinator, you will:

Assist with the development, implementation and management of the quality and food safety management systems

Assist with the development and implementation of QA training programs across all departments in line with the training schedule

Play a key role in food safety and quality system audits (both internal and external) including follow-up actions

Ensure that daily retention samples, line clearances, paperwork checks are completed

Ensure all quality tests are performed in accordance with set criteria and manage the product and environmental testing and calibration schedules

Perform sensory analysis on raw materials, WIP and finished products to determine suitability and in line with customer requirements/criteria

Communicate clearly and effectively across all levels of the business

Ensure that safety and quality are the key drivers in yours and the teams work

Development and verification of the cleaning procedures and schedule

Complete complaint/non-conformance investigations and manage quality and food safety issues in production including investigations of the root cause of non-conformity of incoming materials, in process products and finished products

Actively participate and play a key role in product development trials, from pre-production through to product launch

Provide project support to ensure compliance or improvement of the Quality Management System

To be successful in this role, you will need:

Tertiary qualification in food science or related discipline

Experience with food safety management systems (eg. FSANZ, SQF, HACCP, CFMSR)

A working understanding of Labelling and FSANZ Food Standards Code;

Knowledge of allergen controls and gluten free manufacturing;

Excellent written and verbal communication and time management skills

Systematic approach to processes and business operations

Strong safety/quality mindset in all facets of work

Flexible, open to change and possess the ability to work well under pressure.
