Join the Communications and Marketing Division as our Media Advisor. You’ll play a critical operational role in supporting the team, managing workflows, and helping deliver public messaging.
The role
As Media Advisor, you’ll be the engine room of our operations, ensuring the team can respond swiftly to media enquiries, track issues effectively, and deliver high-quality communications. This role is perfect for someone with a media relations background who has a strong foundation in running a busy media room.
What you’ll do:
- Triage incoming media enquiries, ensuring they are allocated efficiently across the team.
- Monitor media coverage, compile reports, and provide insights into emerging issues.
- Support senior leaders by maintaining work-in-progress tracking systems for planning and scheduling critical work.
- Develop media materials, working with internal stakeholders to ensure clear and consistent messaging.
- Oversee monthly media analysis and develop post-campaign evaluations.
- Manage compliance and governance for key technology platforms.
- Maintain a central library of key messages, contentious issues, and media statements to support consistency in communications.
- Coordinate the media team’s on-call roster, ensuring seamless coverage for media enquiries.

What you will bring to the role
You are highly organised, detail-oriented, and thrive under pressure. You have a strong foundation in media relations and are eager to deepen your expertise in media operations and strategic communications. You enjoy working behind the scenes, ensuring everything runs smoothly while also having opportunities to engage in content development and campaign reporting.
You’ll succeed in the role if you:
- Have experience in media relations, journalism, or public affairs.
- Are a strong communicator who can track, analyse, and summarise media coverage effectively.
- Can manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Are highly organised, detail-focused, and adept at maintaining structured workflows and reporting systems.
What is an essential requirement
- Tertiary qualifications in related discipline and/or relevant equivalent experience.
