Positions: Maternity Leave one year contract Educational Leader and Part Time Educational leader
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Educational Leader to join the Empower team that has a strong desire in working in positive team environment where children's safety and wellbeing is at our highest priority. What is the ideal EMPOWER educator and what are we seeking from you?
- You must have a warm smiling face that makes every child feel special.
- You must be able to laugh at jokes you don't understand, or you don't find funny.
- You will preferably have a little bit of quirkiness. If a child request that you be a cat in their vet, you will be the best cat you can be.
- You will need to have the skills to LEAD by example, to TEACH and to COACH.
- OWNA experience is not necessary, but it will help you.
- You need to have the ability to be a solution finder not a problem carrier.
- You will be required to lead and further develop EMPOWERS philosophy, curriculums and elevate program.
- The ability to sing in tune is not necessary, but the ability to have Agility and adaptability essential. Is to be accountable and assume your responsibilities, making sure that you have laid out a plan on how you should respond to change.
- You must be able to distribute loving cuddles as required, by this we mean to little and big people conflict management applies to all age groups.
- Having the skills required to rapidly count the heads of numerous moving small people is of the upmost importance. Critical thinking is what we call it and is the foundations of being a great leader are you able to own your own BS to be able to inspire a team to own theirs.
- Having the skills to use an IPAD to take photos to capture the most special moments, while remembering what the children said. Or be really quick to post the moment there and then. When you're supporting your team on the floor LEAD by example.
- Employee motivation is above all are you motivated do you come up with new ideas, make things fun, look out of everybody else's lenses before your own even when it's annoying. Innovation and creativity can you push your own boundaries. Consider some of the industry leaders, what did it take for Apple to become a leader technology industry? They made innovations to products with their customers in mind. That is the sort of Leader Empower is seeking if this is you skip all of this and hit apply.
- You must be able to reflect on the service practice including your own to every part of our philosophy. using the Child Safe Standards and the UN rights of a child to guide everything you do.
- You must have a high level of appreciation towards your team, it is essential you know each of your team members how they receive communication and how they would like to be appreciated.
- You must have the ability to be a decision maker leading with conviction In reality, your decisions as a leader will determine your and Empower's success. Making decisions, however big or small, are a fundamental part of Leadership, as a leader you need to develop strong decision-making skills and have the conviction to stand by your decisions, whilst also recognising the need to adapt when those decisions do not lead to the desired outcome. It is a unique balancing act.
- You must be able to have the skills to be able to support adult children to support children to be fully engaged in activities through your interactions and relationships formed.
- Back to conflict management and by this I don't just mean between two people, conflict in business can be with our customers, suppliers, department so much fun ! this has to be my favourite part of business when you can see conflict as an opportunity for learning and growth that is where the magic happens. When a conflict arises, an effective leader should be able to jump in and resolve or at least mitigate the conflict before it affects the business negatively. When properly dealt with, a conflict may even turn out to be positive for Empower, as it can often lead to stronger bonds or new ideas.
- You must have the skill set to performance manage and look out for rising stars to ensure we are coaching our next leaders.
- You must have the ability to read a ten-page book, with at least four interruptions per page. Start an admin task with at least three people calling your name.
- You must be able to communicate with kindness
- You must love to research and unpack practices, it is essential that the Educational Leader has a sounder understanding of the NQS. You will be responsible for completely driving QA1
- Thinking on your feet is a skill you will need to acquire. The practice will support you to ensure your stations are cleaned, you're organised, team and your clients are happy.
- You must be prepared to have lots of FUN in the workplace. Be professional but be personal
