The Role
As the Assistant Accountant you will handle various accounting duties including general ledger maintenance, journal entries, and fixed asset management. You will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded.
• Prepare and process journal entries, ensuring they are accurate and compliant with company policies.
• Manage fixed asset accounting, including tracking asset acquisitions, depreciation, disposals, and impairments.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, providing insights into financial performance.
• Reconcile accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank statements.
• Assist in the preparation of tax returns and support compliance with tax regulations.
• Conduct detailed financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
• Assist with year-end closing procedures and support audits as required.
• Ensure that all accounting processes are compliant with applicable regulations and company policies.

To Be Considered

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 2-3 years of accounting experience, with strong expertise in general ledger and fixed asset management.
• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and tax regulations.
• Experience with journal entries, fixed asset accounting, and general ledger maintenance.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with other departments.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
