Role Overview

They are seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Development Manager with a strong background in site origination to join our growing team. This role will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and securing sites for renewable energy projects, with a focus on early-stage development, land acquisition, permitting, and stakeholder engagement. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in expanding their project pipeline and ensuring the successful development of high impact renewable energy assets.

Key Responsibilities

Site Origination & Acquisition: Identify and secure land suitable for large scale renewable energy projects through direct negotiations with landowners, partnerships and other innovative strategies.

Market & Site Assessment: Conduct feasibility studies, environmental impact assessments, and grid connectivity evaluations to determine project viability.

Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with landowners, local communities, permitting authorities, utilities and other key stakeholders.

Permitting & Regulatory Compliance: Navigate permitting and regulatory approval processes at local, regional, and national levels to ensure project viability.

Project Management: Oversee early-stage development activities, ensuring projects meet financial, technical and timeline objectives.

Financial & Commercial Analysis: Work closely with internal teams to assess project economics, risk factors and investment opportunities.

Key Qualifications & Experience

Minimum 3+ years of experience in renewable energy project development, with a focus on site origination.

Proven track record of successfully identifying and securing sites for large-scale renewable energy projects.

Strong knowledge of land acquisition processes, permitting regulations, and interconnection requirements.

Experience negotiating land lease and purchase agreements.

Understanding of renewable energy policies, incentives, and market trends.

Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Ability to travel as needed for site visits, stakeholder meetings, and project development activities.

A black book of relevant contacts is ideal
