About the Opportunity
Join Western Sydney University and drive transformational philanthropy as our Development Manager – Trusts & Foundations. This is an exciting fixed-term opportunity until 31 March 2030, based at our vibrant Parramatta Campus. You'll be at the heart of our ambitious fundraising initiatives, securing vital funding for scholarships, groundbreaking research, and impactful capital projects. Reporting to the Development Manager, you'll develop and implement strategic fundraising plans, cultivate and steward relationships with major philanthropic trusts and foundations, and craft compelling funding proposals that align their giving priorities with our University's strategic objectives. You’ll also work closely with academic leaders and senior staff, ensuring meaningful engagement and long-term support from our valued donors. If you're passionate about making a tangible difference in higher education and are ready to play a pivotal role in our philanthropic success, we want to hear from you.
About You
We're looking for a highly motivated and strategic professional with a strong background in fundraising, philanthropy, or cause-driven relationship management. Your ability to build and manage relationships with high-value donors and decision-makers in trusts and foundations is key to your success. Ideally, you’ll possess a degree or equivalent qualification, coupled with demonstrated experience in major gift fundraising, preferably within a university or not-for-profit setting. You'll have exceptional communication and writing skills, with a proven track record of preparing successful funding applications and proposals. Your strong organisational and planning skills, combined with a 'can-do' attitude, will enable you to manage multiple priorities and meet fundraising targets. You'll be a skilled negotiator and networker, capable of engaging high-level stakeholders, and a creative thinker, able to identify new funding opportunities and drive innovative philanthropic initiatives. Proficiency in donor databases, such as Raiser’s Edge, and other relevant IT systems is highly desirable. We need someone who can inspire confidence, exercise good judgment on complex issues, and use initiative to achieve successful outcomes.
