An exciting opportunity for an experienced Cost Accountant to join a fast growing manufacturing organisation in Miranda. This role focuses on internal financial analysis to help understand and manage company expenses, ultimately contributing to improved profitability.

Job Duties:

Cost Analysis & Efficiency:

• Analyst manufacturing costs (direct materials, direct labour, and manufacturing overhead).
• Compare standard costs to actual costs and identify variances, investigating the reasons for differences.
• Create detailed reports and presentations on cost performance, including variances and potential cost-saving opportunities.

Data Analysis & Reporting:

• Analyze sales, financial, and operational data to provide actionable insights for business performance.
  
• Create and maintain regular reports on financial performance, sales trends, and key business metrics.
  
• Prepare forecasts, budgets, and monthly performance reports for management.

Inventory Management:

• Monitor inventory levels and costs, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Work with inventory management systems (Netstock) to track and control inventory.
• Netstock Management - accountable for software vendor relationship, system integrity, expertise and training

Financial Reporting and Analysis

• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis
• extract, analyse and relay data to key stakeholders
• Provide insights into financial trends, performance metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to facilitate strategic planning.
• Process invoices, expense reports, and payments accurately and on time

Additional Responsibilities:

• Provide relief backup to staff in finance and administration.
  
• Assist with internal audits and maintain accurate cost records.
  
• Drive process improvements and collaborate with teams to reduce costs and improve operational efficiency.

About You:

• Experience with Cost Accounting in a manufacturing organisation
• Excellent communication skills and ability to influence across the business.
• Proven track record of process improvement and implementation.
• Experience in assisting with month end and financial reporting
• Strong system experience, Netstock or Xero knowledge is desirable
