About the role
We have an opportunity for a Senior Network Infrastructure Engineer to be part of our Network and Security Platform Services team, Technology & Communication Services Command. The Senior Network Infrastructure Engineer provides technical advice and support on to the NSWPF projects and BAU requirements on behalf of the Network and Security Platform Services Directorate. This role is required to deploy and test; data, voice, teleconference and wi-fi networks on sites. The ideal candidate will provide operational support, troubleshooting and rectify network issues to a CCNA level.
Your day to day responsibilities include:
• Cisco router, switch, voice gateway, CUCM, phones, Teleconference/AV devices monitoring and installation.
• Teams Admin Console Administration and Monitoring
• Network monitoring tools such as solarwinds
• Troubleshooting and resolving network issues, inc. network hardware, firmware, software, configuration
• Troubleshooting and on boarding Crestron and Cisco AV equipment, incl hardware, firmware, software, configuration. You will not be expected to be physically installing or fitting out large rooms.
• Provide second level support to Field Support
• Liaise with product resellers/vendors for equipment support.
• Work closely with Infrastructure & Assets Command and AV Integrators around our standards and Requests for Quotations
• Assess project/user Audio Video requirements to provide fit-for purpose solutions; develop and issue NSWPF standards-based specifications and services.
• Provide technical advice and support on Networks and AV incl., on-site equipment installation, configuration, testing/troubleshooting, commissioning, and documentation.
• Provide network operational support – incident handling, network monitoring, troubleshooting, configuring and change implementation to minimise down-time and loss of productivity.
• Implement NSWPF policies, standards, guidelines.
• Provide remote AV support at Level 2 and above and management to Police users and other teams within the organisation.
This role will include travel to sites often for a few days at a time. You will be expected to drive long distances.
You will be a good fit for this role if you have:
• Open Cabling License
• Experience in a similar role providing network support for a range of Cisco and Crestron Audio Video products, and Teleconference systems, incl installation, configuration, testing/troubleshooting, and commissioning
• Demonstrated detailed knowledge and experience across a range of Teams for Windows devices including configuration installation and troubleshooting
• Strong analytical, problem solving, communication and project management skills
• Demonstrated experience in AV project management and solution design.
• Demonstrated experience in Network Topology
• Demonstrated experience in working within competing priorities and with a range of project
