Tompsett Asphalt is a Leading Asphalt Company Based in Sunshine West Victoria, With a fleet of over 60 Assets on the road daily we are looking for the perfect candidate to keep up the general maintenance and checks required to operate safely on the road daily. Salary Based between $110,000 - $150,000 Per Year (Depending On Experience) Additional to this Saturdays is overtime. 1 Saturday per month is required as a minimum.

Reporting to the Operations Manager to schedule work in. In a matter of urgency keeping up with the Service intervals, Log book Servicing , General Fabrication , General Welding, HC License is a MUST to road test Truck & trailers.

Also in the Fleet we have a range of Excavators Ranging between 2.5T - 5.5T , Plant Trailers, Tandem Tippers, Quad Axle Low Loaders, Semi Flocons, Asphalt Equipment From Road Profilers To Pavers & Skid Steers.

The Vast Majority of the Fleet is Made up of Toyotas , Isuzu Cars , Isuzu Trucks, Mitsubishi Trucks & Kenworth Trucks.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues in diesel and petrol engines across our fleet.
• Inspect vehicles and equipment to identify potential issues and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and deliver high-quality service.
• Maintain detailed records of all repairs and services performed.
• Source and replace parts as necessary, ensuring all work meets our high standards whilst ensuring best price is found.
• Experience of working with and on Tippers Excavators, Loader, Tractors, Forklifts and other heavy Vehicles
• Great work ethic & attitude
• Great Communication skills as you will be communicating with site crews, supervisors, office staff and Directors
• Metal Fabrication

What we are looking for (skills, experience and certificates)

• Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology/Qualified Certificate of Proficiency Diesel Motor Mechanic - heavy stream diesel or equivalent
• Extensive Post Qualification experience in Fleet Maintenance of a variety of Plant and Equipment.
• Sound knowledge and experience in complex hydraulic and electrical fault diagnosis
• A Demonstrated commitment to our values
• Heavy Combination vehicle licence
• Forklift Licence - desirable
• White Card
• First Aid
