Byron Bay Preschool is looking for an Experienced ECT to work 24-37.5 hours a week in our preschool. Please submit your application by 5pm on Wednesday 9th April 2025 .

Byron Bay Preschool consists of two centres and a nature school, that deliver quality early childhood education across the school terms. Our Cavanbah centre is in the heart of bustling Byron Bay, and our Coogera centre is nestled in the beautiful trees in Suffolk Park. Both Preschools have been awarded the ‘Excellent rating’ by ACECQA.

You will have the opportunity to work alongside a team of eight other innovative and passionate ECT'S, with a strong philosophy for supporting child voice, children's agency, natural learning environments, sustainability and aboriginal culture. We are looking for someone who has knowledge and interest in these areas, and who feels their personal philosophy would be a good fit.

ESSENTIAL Criteria

• Bachelor of Education/Teaching in Early Childhood or higher
• Two years (minimum) experience in an ECT role
• Current proficient registration as a teacher in NSW
• Current First Aid, Anaphylaxis, Asthma and CPR Certification
• Current WWCC
• Sound understanding on the NQF including the EYLF and NQS

Tasks & responsibilities

• Leading a team to deliver high-quality early childhood education and care
• Sound understanding of compliance
• Working with others to develop the QIP
• Leading the implementation of the QIP in your room
• Mentoring educators in current pedagogy and practice
• Delivering an innovative play-based curriculum, which includes emergent curriculum, intentional teaching, child lead continuous pedagogy and inquiry projects
• Building strong responsive partnerships and relationships with families and children
• Enabling children to have a voice, influence their world and lead their own curriculum
• Establishing inspiring natural and continuous environments
• Understand and utilise distributive and collaborative leadership styles
