  • Help rehumanise the practise of law and drive change in the wider legal profession

The opportunity

10 years ago, Keypoint was a start-up law firm with a disruptive business model, challenging how law firms operate. Fast-forward to today, and we are now one of the country’s fastest-growing firms, with over 80 senior lawyers working across 25 areas of law in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Canberra, Adelaide and Perth. A multi-award-winning firm, Keypoint’s mission is to rehumanise the practise of law, and in doing so, provide outstanding legal services to clients.

Keypoint Law is seeking a highly personable and ambitious professional to join our firm as our Head of Operations, based in the Sydney CBD, on a full-time basis.

The Head of Operations is responsible for overseeing the delivery of the firm’s support functions (other than Finance, Marketing and Business Development) and for ensuring the satisfaction of our lawyers with the services and support we provide to them. The role works closely with the firm's CEO and other management team members to align operational performance with the firm's strategic objectives.

The key responsibilities of the role are:

1. Operational Leadership: To manage the firm’s support services, including:

a) Service delivery to our lawyers

Responsible for ensuring our lawyers are supported, to in turn enable them to deliver outstanding services to clients

b) On-boarding new team members

Responsible for on-boarding new joiners and ensuring they settle in well

c) Paralegal Support

Responsible for the firm’s paralegal support team. Working closely with the Paralegal Team Leader on recruiting paralegals, and managing workflow, performance, rostering, resourcing and professional development.

d) Information Technology

Responsible for the firm’s IT systems, end-user support and on-boarding – with the aid and expertise of the firm’s external IT services provider. This includes stewardship of new technologies introduced into the firm, such as AI.

e) Facilities Management

Responsible for the firm’s leased offices in Sydney and Melbourne. This includes vendor management, day-to-day office management and ensuring the firm's physical environment is safe, functional, and conducive to productive work.

f) Risk Management

Responsible for identifying and managing risks, and ensuring compliance, in the firm’s operations, with support from the firm’s General Counsel.

2. Relationship Management: To continuously strengthen the firm’s culture and esprit de corps, and ensure a warm and collaborative environment for all members of our team.

3. Strategic leadership: The Head of Operations will also play a major role in developing the strategy of our firm as we scale over the next two years. The Head of Operations is a member of the firm’s leadership team, and the role reports to the firm’s CEO.
