This Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate and experienced AOD Program Facilitator to join the Release Support team, delivering an AOD intervention program within Bunbury Regional Prison. You will be joining a highly experienced and support team, in an established program model.

This role provides the delivery of a therapeutic group treatment program within Bunbury Regional Prison. You will utilise your group facilitation skills and knowledge, alongside case management practises in a solution-focused and client-centred approach. Our goal across the service is to reduce the rates of recidivism through supporting clients in sustained behaviour change. Through a collaborative approach for services and support, and high-quality program facilitation, you can build capacity and resilience for the people in prison to move forward and lead fulfilling lives.

Key Role Responsibilities

Work collaboratively, utilising a strengths-based, person-centred approach, to deliver high supports and communicate any service delivery requirements or concerns to the line manager.

Plan, develop, and deliver a high-quality therapeutic alcohol and other drug (AOD) treatment program to participants, in compliance with the Department of Justice program requirements.

Participate in operational supervision, case management and team meetings to share relevant information, practice development improvements and learnings to ensure consistent service delivery across the team and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Maintain accurate records of client data, prepare professional case notes, reports, and correspondence, and contribute to service reporting requirements.

Work with clients and their families to proactively assist clients to meet their needs, in a supportive manner.

Where required, conduct risk assessments and minimise risks which arise from crisis situations and delivering services to vulnerable people.

Measure quantitative and qualitative evaluation methods for the service in line with funding agreements and service outcome requirements and as directed the line manager.

Essential requirements

Tertiary qualification in human services fields (Social Work, Psychology, Counselling) and demonstrated experience working with people at risk or with complex needs.

Demonstrated experience in case management practices and strategies to support vulnerable people.

Demonstrated experience and knowledge of substance misuse and therapeutic treatment practises.

Demonstrated experience and understanding of facilitation and/or group work.

Demonstrated ability to work directly with vulnerable clients who have complex needs and achieve positive and sustainable outcomes.
