The Role
TasWater is looking for a dynamic leader to manage and develop its asset management system. This role focuses on ensuring the sustainability of the company’s asset infrastructure while balancing value delivery and acceptable risk for both the business and its customers. The successful candidate will provide governance, oversee a long-term rolling capital works program, and adapt it to meet TasWater’s evolving needs.
- Champion and drive implementation of the Strategic Asset Management Plan (SAMP).
- Collaborate with corporate strategy and corporate risk & governance to integrate the SAMP with corporate strategic outcomes and with corporate risk and resilience strategies,
- Drive the development and operationalisation of the asset system risk management practice.
- Adapt the capital works program to meet the evolving needs of TasWater.

What we’re looking for
The ideal candidate will have the ability to balance risk and value delivery, provide governance, and oversee the implementation of the SAMP and development of long-term capital works programs. Strong strategic thinking, leadership skills, and the ability to adapt to evolving business needs are essential for this role
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Project Management or related field
- Demonstrated experience in establishing and practical application of asset management frameworks and systems (ISO55000 suite of standards)
- Current drivers licence
- Significant practical experience in developing asset management plans, risk management plan and asset strategies in utilities.
- Experience in managing and coordinating projects.

The Details
This role can be based in either Hobart, Launceston, or Devonport and attracts a salary of $145,011 - $161,123 (inclusive of superannuation), negotiable dependent on experience.
