Our client operates within a dynamic logistics and delivery industry, focusing on providing exceptional service to its clients nationwide. They are seeking a dynamic Management Accountant to join their growing finance team. This role plays a pivotal part in managing the financial and commercial operations of the business, including internal reporting and statutory compliance.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As Management Accountant, you will act as a key financial partner to the sales and operations teams while ensuring accurate and timely financial processes. This position offers a collaborative environment with direct engagement with the CFO and broader finance team, providing opportunities for growth and impact within the organization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare and analyse financial statements, including P&L, balance sheets, and cash flow.
• Conduct variance analysis and develop management reports, including weekly KPI reporting.
• Process contractor payments (RCTIs) and ensure accurate invoicing and reconciliations.
• Manage general ledger activities, including accruals, fixed assets, and depreciation schedules.
• Ensure compliance with statutory obligations, including GST, WorkCover, and Payroll Tax requirements.
• Collaborate with the sales and operations teams to provide financial insights and client reporting.
• Drive improvements in financial processes and reporting systems.
• Support the CFO with balance sheet reconciliations, audits, and budgeting tasks.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Business, or Commerce.
• Proven experience in financial reporting, analysis, and compliance within a commercial setting.
• Proficiency in accounting software (experience with Xero is highly desirable).
• Strong analytical and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage diverse relationships.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver accurate, timely results.
• A proactive approach with strong problem-solving capabilities and attention to detail.
