About The Role

This role would be perfect for someone with exceptional ER skills or an employment lawyer looking for a career change with a passion for providing strategic and pragmatic wholistic advice to business owners, senior leaders and employers of all sizes.

You’ll be supporting our wonderful clients across a variety of industries such as manufacturing, retail, building and construction, transport, horticulture, professional services and many more! You will be working directly with Melisa Raven the Director and founder of Raven HR. While the role is remote first, from time to time to meet our Client's needs onsite attendance will be required and we try to catch up in person when we can.

Key Responsibilities

No two days are the same as you use your ER knowledge and skills to support clients across the employment life cycle, to provide timely, accurate and pragmatic advice on:

  • Employment law compliance including Modern Awards, Enterprise Agreements, Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth) and other workplace laws and regulations.
  • Confidence in interpreting awards, determining award coverage and classifications across a variety of industry and occupation awards, and understanding award rules to ensure compliance.
  • Preparing employment contracts, policies and templates.
  • Support with enterprise agreement making process e.g. drafting, bargaining etc.
  • Conducting workplace investigations.
  • Providing advice on performance management, restructuring and termination, while mitigating risks.
  • Support the management of long term ill and injured workers.
  • Develop and facilitate engaging training on HR/ER topics.
  • General HR/ER support and advice.
  • Support with business development and promoting Raven HR.
  • Proactively looking for add-value opportunities to continually engage with our clients.
  • Confidently building and maintaining sound relationships with our clients to ensure retention.

About You

Are you a superstar Employee Relations Specialist with at least 2+ years experience, who thrives in a fast paced environment? Looking to join a close knit energetic team of professionals who value integrity? Want to have the freedom to work remotely and from Client sites from time to time, with great flexibility and trust?

You excel in supporting senior leaders with urgency and are comfortable pivoting priorities to meet organisational needs of clients and managing competing priorities. Your strong communication skills, deep employee relations expertise and commercial mindset enables you to confidently advise senior leaders, driving positive outcomes for Clients and their employees. You’re a self-starter, highly organised, have high attention to detail and you work well autonomously and as part of a team.

You enjoy building long lasting professional relationships with Clients and are confident to develop and facilitate training.

  • a Bachelor degree (or higher) in Law, Employment or Labour Law, Human Resources or Business with a minimum 2 years in legal or employee relations experience.
  • Valid, unrestricted working rights to work in Australia
  • offer of employment will be subject to a background/police check (as a pre-condition of employment)
  • valid drivers licence in Australia
  • strong aptitude in the use of the Microsoft Office 365 suite
