Aristocrat Technologies is seeking a People & Culture Employee Relations Specialist within the MyP&C Global Operations team for a 12-month fixed term position performing employee relations scope of services work. The successful candidate will own the employee relations tasks and actions, provide employee relations direction and guidance within an assigned region, serve as a contact for employee relations related initiatives, help navigate and resolve employee relations matters, provide policy interpretation and partner with internal stakeholders such as P&C business partners, P&C center of expertise, legal and compliance teams to ensure employee relations compliance with company policies and practices. This candidate will also partner with our unionized employees in the Integration Centers and for our Field Technicians. The candidate will have a high level of accountability for achieving operational results within the employee relations team and will act as a subject matter expert across employee relations processes & practices and will work to optimize our employee relations scope of services and processes.
This role will be based a few days per week at Aristocrat's Integration Center in Greystanes, Sydney, a few days at our Corporate HQ in North Ryde, Sydney, and includes one day of work from home (WFH).
What You'll Do
- Conduct thorough and objective investigations regarding, but not limited to workplace issues, whistleblower, disciplinary, complaints, and grievances.
- Respond to requests, assist employees and managers, document findings, make recommendations and drive appropriate actions to resolve complex employee related matters promptly.
- Partner with the P&C business partners and assist managers to help assess, perform employee relations work, determine appropriate corrective actions, provide guidance and solutions, and mitigate risk across all employee relations scope of services and employee relations matters.
- Ensure corrective actions are fair, consistent and comply with all relevant laws, regulations, company employee standards and expectations.
- Analyze data to identify trends, produce metrics and create reports with recommended actions regarding employee relations initiatives.
- Capture and maintain comprehensive and detailed records within a case tool (ServiceNow) while maintaining a high level of confidentiality, develop documentation in response to an employment-related matters and liaise with legal/BP to prepare required documentation for employee, third party or governmental agencies.
- Represent Aristocrat in front of regulatory and governmental agencies regarding unemployment filings, hearings, appeals, works councils and other employee relations matters.
- Conduct exit interviews, surveys and analyze feedback to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Identify, create, maintain and obtain approval for all necessary employee/labor relations policies, practices, handbooks and procedures across Aristocrat.
What We're Looking For
- A bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources, or a related field with PHR or SHRM certification is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in employee and labor relations or as a P&C business partner supporting employee relations activities.
- Preferred experience working within a unionized workforce to support our Integration Centers employee population.
- Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of labor laws, investigations, conflict resolution, and employee relations best practices.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively navigate sensitive matters and deliver clear messages
- Working under minimal supervision, provide effective service, support, consultation and resolution of complex ER inquiries and issues through the informed application of company policies, programs, procedures, and federal/state laws.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct formal investigations involving all levels of interaction, documenting findings for legal and audit purposes and providing appropriate recommendations to senior business leaders.
- Proven ability to research information, analyze data, and use sound judgment to draw valid conclusions, prepare recommendations and build plans of action.
- Ability to establish credibility, build rapport and create trust in a virtual setting.
- Excellent consultative, listening, and verbal/written communication skills; ability to influence, negotiate and convey recommendations and opinions persuasively.
- Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive, emotional and confidential situations in a composed, discrete and professional manner.
- Excellent conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to prioritize and use time effectively and efficiently.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing with department heads, managers, employees, and vendors to resolve problems and negotiate resolution.
