We are currently recruiting for multiple Senior Development Manager (Complex Transactions) for our client, a NSW Government agency based close to Sydney CBD. This is an initial 12 month contract with a pay rate of $1100 - $1200 per day + super. The role is hybrid with office attendance required 2-3 days per week (Tuesdays and Thursdays) and WFH and is for 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week.

The Senior Development Manager (Complex Transactions) will oversee the identification, risk assessment, and execution of property transactions for new and expanding schools throughout New South Wales. This position demands a comprehensive knowledge of real estate development, intricate property transactions, and the applicable government policies and legislation governing land acquisition, divestment, and development.

Key accountabilities
· Identify and analyse potential sites for educational facilities and development.
· Conduct site due diligence, including desktop investigations to assess site suitability and value, and liaise with internal and external valuation resources
· Lead the end-to-end process of land acquisitions and divestments, from negotiation to deal closure
· Engage with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders including government agencies, developers and Local Council’s
· Manage the divestment of government sites in accordance with the Government Property Framework
· Ensure all transactions comply with relevant government directives, treasury policies, and legislation

Candidate Requirements

· Extensive expertise in overseeing complex property transactions, including land acquisition and divestment across commercial, residential, and government sectors
· Significant experience with compulsory acquisition processes and negotiating intricate transactions, particularly within the NSW government framework
· In-depth knowledge of NSW planning regulations
· Proven experience collaborating with government agencies such as the Department of Planning and Housing Infrastructure (DPHI), Property and Development NSW (PDNSW), Transport for NSW (TfNSW), and Local Government Councils
