Start Date: ASAP, but we can wait for the right candidate

Initial Contract: 6 months (likely extension, pending scope of works)

Maximum Rate: $1,250 – 1,300 per day, plus super ($1,450 plus GST if an ABN)

Location: Hybrid, with a requirement to attend the office each Thursday rotating between Macquarie Park and ES. In person attendance may be required in addition to support workshops / briefings.

Primary purposes of the role: the role leads and manages a high-profile, strategic, enterprise-wide people impact program, encompassing five key workstreams: Change and Communications, Workforce Relations, Workplaces, Data, and Safety. The role also provides direction to ensure accountability and successful program delivery, while functioning as the primary point of contact for key project sponsors, stakeholders, and governance groups. Responsibilities include:

Provide high-quality expert advice to senior management and project managers to enable strategic thinking and the successful delivery of projects within the portfolio.

Lead the team to ensure that systems and processes are in place so that all delivery complies with the relevant requirements and that the appropriate risk mitigations are in place.

Provide regular and comprehensive reporting on the status of project performance and risks and issues with may impact scheduling and the delivery of outcomes.

Develop and maintain key stakeholder relationships within program team and across key business areas.

Manage a program team of direct reports to drive successful delivery, mitigate risks, and deliver regular updates to the Program Director.

Stakeholders: Internal program team and line manager Director Transformation Program Delivery

1 direct report: TBC

Current team structure: Program Sponsor, Program Manager, Senior Manager Project Delivery and 5 workstreams (workplaces, Industrial Relations, change and comms, data, safety).

Essential Skills / Requirements:

10 years+ Senior Manager Project Delivery experience; with a proven track record in building and maintaining cohesive, high-performing multidisciplinary teams, driving enhanced performance at both individual and team levels through a transformational phase.

A strong background in Change and Communications, and Workforce Relations; ideally with experience in Workplaces, Data, and Safety.

Previous experience within NSW Transport, Sydney Trains &/or Metro will be advantageous.

Demonstrated leadership experience in large-scale program delivery relating to organisational reforms or people impact programs within a complex and constrained environment.

Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team of multi-disciplinary specialists facilitate their ongoing professional development, maximise on their performance to deliver diverse and complex operational service.

Professional certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP) Agile, Prince etc.

Key challenges:

Navigating and working in situations of ambiguity, where timelines and priorities can shift unexpectedly, requiring flexibility and adaptability.

Managing and collaborating with multiple senior executive stakeholders across the Transport cluster to drive and implement strategy and business improvement initiatives.
