We are seeking multiple Senior QA Automation Engineer's / SDET's to work within cross functional SCRUM team's. The development teams support, maintain and develop features for multiple large digital properties, this includes instore ordering applications which integrate with delivery partners, and other key software systems. There are multiple critical applications across the business and you will be the lead QA for one of the systems and the team.
You will be working in an extensive digital ecosystem (Web & Mobile), constantly evolving and leveraging the latest technologies. You will play a key role in the Agile/SCRUM development practices and your role will support execution of marketing initiatives, development of new features, integrations with SaaS platforms and other 3rd party software, you will maintain a high level of quality by owning the release management for your team, and working closely with the other Lead QA's to ensure a smooth release cycle.
In this role you will
- Review requirements, specifications, and other related documents.
- Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases.
- Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing activities.
- Design, develop, and execute automated scripts using open-source tools, with a focus on JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, and React.
- Identify, record, document thoroughly, and track bugs.
- Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved.
- Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products.
- Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., business analysts, developers, and product managers) to identify system requirements.
- Monitor debugging process results and track quality assurance metrics.
- Report issues and risks to the team.
- Proactively advise on best practices for testing and quality assurance.
- Coordinate release cycles with other Lead QA, work closely with the engineering manager to ensure high quality, regular updates into production.
- Accurately and comprehensively record defects discovered during the execution of test cases.
- Prepare test data and test estimates.
Ideally you will have
- Strong programming skills in JavaScript / Typescript, this will be utilised in their serverless environment using Node.js and React.
- Able to build and maintain test scripts using automated testing tools, applying TDD/BDD techniques.
- Ensure proper traceability, version control, and configuration management of all test objects developed.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
- Knowledge of the Git version control system.
- Ability to quickly research and learn new programming tools and techniques.
- Understanding and experience with a range of approaches to testing application code and systems for behaviour and performance (e.g., Postman, JMeter).
- Experience with cloud technologies e.g., AWS
Desirable Skills
- Experience testing high-traffic websites.
- Experience testing large data sets.
- Knowledge of relational and non-relational databases.
- Knowledge of Cloud platforms like AWS.
- Knowledge of PACT testing.
