The position
This is an entry level support position on the Far Edge Helpdesk. You will use effective communication skills and basic technical knowledge to respond to client requests for IT support. You will carry out basic maintenance tasks and resolve routine technical issues initially under direct supervision but will be expected to quickly become independent. You like helping people and naturally seek out opportunities to gain further technical knowledge and customer service experience.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Responding to Helpdesk Calls: Answer incoming calls to the helpdesk in a timely and professional manner, gathering and logging relevant information from callers to understand and direct their requests effectively.
- Technical Support: Assist clients with IT-related issues by phone, email, or in-person.
- Issue Resolution: Troubleshoot technical problems efficiently and effectively, using available resources and escalate complex issues to senior technicians or line manager as necessary.
- Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks such as checking back-ups for clients and Far Edge.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all support interactions and actions taken, using the helpdesk ticketing system.
Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Qualifications
- A minimum of 12 months' relevant work experience.
- Working knowledge of relevant operating systems, networks and vendor products.
- Good problem solving and trouble shooting skills.
- Ability to manage customer expectations.
- Well-developed organisational skills, including the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Full-time position (40 hours per week).
Must have the right to work full-time in Australia.
