Clinic hours range between 6.30am and 5.30pm Monday to Friday.

Who are we looking for?

A part time Medical Receptionist passionate about customer service, to become part of our warm and welcoming administration team.

The part time role is approx. 20 hours a week over 2-3 days with the flexibility to work extra hours to cover staff leave if required.

Key responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):

  • Manage incoming telephone calls and assisting patients with inquiries.
  • Preparing and running patient clinics for Gastroenterology and other specialists. Assisting with patient pre procedure and post procedure appointments.
  • Processing patient billing and receipting.
  • Assisting with the preparation of procedure quotes and patient prep packs.
  • Booking procedures and liaising closely with the relevant hospitals, referring specialists and GP's.
  • Accurate processing of all medical correspondence and administration relating to patients.
  • Following up on patient radiology, imaging and pathology.
  • Providing general day to day administration support to the doctors, patients and administration team.

Skills required:

  • Exceptional customer service.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in computer skills, with a sound knowledge of Microsoft office.
  • Experience in practice management software e.g. Clinic to Cloud, Genie or the ability to adapt and acquire knowledge of new systems.
  • Good understanding of medical terminology, Medicare and Health Funds.
  • Procedure bookings experience desirable.
  • Well-developed organisational and time management skills.
  • Deliver a high level of interpersonal, written and oral and communication skills, with the ability to liaise with all levels of staff and consultants.
  • Understand the importance of patient confidentiality.

Experience in a healthcare environment, specialist, hospital or day hospital is desirable but not mandatory.

Extra training and support will be offered to an applicant who is enthusiastic and open to learning new skills.
