About the Organisation
This agency provides support and services defence personnel and their families. Its work includes delivering health care, rehabilitation, compensation, income support, and commemorative programs.
The Role
As the Internal Communications Officer you will play a key role in shaping the agency’s internal communication approach. You’ll develop and implement communication strategies that support major departmental initiatives and contribute to the delivery of all-staff communication channels.
Working as part of a small and supportive team, you will help foster employee engagement, drive strategic messaging, and enhance collaboration across the organisation.
This is a 12-month contract position with the view to lead to permanency within this time.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement internal communication strategies and content for key departmental initiatives.
- Provide high-level communication advice to business areas across the organisation.
- Create engaging written content tailored for various internal channels.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders.
- Contribute to broader communication projects and the implementation of the internal communication strategy.
- Assist with ad hoc communication activities as required.
Skills and Experience Required
Government experience is NOT required for this position and in-fact our client is eager to see applicants from the private or not-for-profit sectors over those with Government experience.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to different audiences and platforms.
- Strong project and stakeholder management skills.
- Strategic thinking, sound judgement, and creative problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team and adapt to changing priorities.
Eligibility and How to Apply:
To be eligible for this position you must be an Australian Citizen at the time of application.
A baseline clearance will be required for this opportunity however the Department will sponsor this if not already held.
