EL1 Policy and Program Advisor

About the role: The role is in the Consumer Information workstream, which is responsible for developing an information framework and strategy to support consumers to understand the role that CER can play in the energy system, and their opportunities to participate, creating benefits for themselves and others.

Responsibilities:

  • Undertaking research, analysis and consultation on consumer decision-making relating to Consumer Energy Resources (CER) and models of information provision in both the energy sector and other industries to contribute to the development of an information framework and strategy.
  • Drafting, reviewing and updating project documents, policy briefs, presentations and other collateral for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Supporting stakeholder engagement and consultation processes, including document preparation and facilitation support at in-person and online stakeholder workshops.
  • Providing project management support for the consumer information workstream to assist with milestone delivery.
  • Establish and maintain stakeholder relationships through effective communication, collaboration, negotiation and issues management to engage stakeholders and strengthen governance practices across all entities.
  • Collaborating closely with colleagues across the Energy Group to facilitate the business of the CER Working Group, CER Technical Reference Group and the CER Taskforce and the branch generally

The successful candidate:

  • Research and Analytical Skills: Ability to conduct thorough research, analyse data and consult on consumer decision-making in the energy sector.
  • Communication Skills: Proficiency in drafting, reviewing and updating project documents, policy briefs, and presentations for various stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Experience in supporting stakeholder engagement and consultation processes, including document preparation and facilitation at workshops.
  • Project Management: Skills in providing project management support to ensure milestone delivery for the consumer information workstream.
  • Relationship Management: Strong communication, collaboration, negotiation and issues management skills to establish and maintain stakeholder relationships.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work closely with colleagues across different groups to facilitate the business of various working groups and taskforces.

What is on offer: 6-month contract, with possible 6-month extension

Location: The location of the position is flexible with a combination of in office and from home to be negotiated with the successful person.

Security Requirements: A current baseline is required.

Hourly Rate: $70.00 - $110.00
