About the role
As the OHS Field Officer, you will be responsible for leading safety across multiple residential construction sites. Reporting to the Head of Safety, you'll be the go-to person for implementing and managing OHS initiatives, ensuring compliance, and fostering a strong safety culture. Spending at least 50% of your time on site is important, ensuring internal workforce and sub-contractor compliance. You will also be responsible for ensuring processes are followed correctly and documented, requiring good administrative skills.

Duties
* Site Inspections & Risk Management - Conduct daily site inspections, identify hazards, ensure compliance, and support incident investigations to enhance workplace safety.
* Contractor & Staff Compliance - Manage contractor safety documentation, oversee staff training and certifications, and deliver onsite safety briefings.
* Incident Response & Reporting - Lead investigations, respond to high-level incidents, liaise with regulatory bodies, and maintain detailed risk analysis for senior management.
* OHS Documentation & Policy Implementation - Maintain safety policies, audit reports, and compliance records while driving continuous safety improvements.
* Stakeholder Collaboration & Safety Culture - Work closely with site teams, provide real-time safety support, and promote a proactive, safety-first culture across all projects.
Skills & Experience
* Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental Management or a related field.
* Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety is highly desirable.
* Proven experience in an OHS-focused role within the construction industry, preferably across residential and medium-density projects.
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage and influence contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
* The ability and desire to solve problems.
